Lionel Roza-Pereira, the Colony's champion swimmer who has shown! a marked improvement in speed

confidently expected to equal and even better his Colony's cham- pionship time of 2 minutes 37 3/5 seconds for the 220 yards free style event at the V.R.C. Gala to night.
Starting from scratch in the heats on Thursday, Roza- Pereira had little difficulty in overhauling the early starters in his race to win the event in 2 minutes 39 seconds.
To-night, however, he will have to quicken his pace considerably if he is to diminish the bandicap which he has to give to G. J. Smith. A. A. Roza and B. Gosano.
