Campbell returned the very excellent time of 25 minutes, 45.-2/5 seconds over a course of approximately one mile, while Miss Yeung Sau-king returned a time of 32 minutes 36.-3/5 seconds. There was a fairly strong current running at the time, although the swimmers were actually handicapped by rollers caused by the passing of many ships at the time of the race.

The actual course of the race was from about 200 yards off the East end of the Kowloon Dockyard, and finishing at the Chinese Bathing Club.
Seventy-eight entrants took the plunge, and 73 finished the course, a remarkable figure.
The race was witnessed and fol- lowed by about five hundred people in motor boats, launches and in hundreds of rowing, bosts.
The event was divided into five sections comprising, Open Men and Ladies, Chinese Bathing Club Men and Ladies, and * Veterans' Section.

At the conclusion Mr. Kwok Chan, Chairman of the Chinese Bathing Club made a short speech |congratulating the swimmers
their excellent efforts and also in- troduced Marshall Li Chal-sum, a former Governor of Kwangtung. Province, Marshal Chan Ming-thiu,
a Life President of the Chinese Bathing Club, who also distributed the prizes, and General Ong Chino- wun, the famous defender of the Woosung Forts during the trouble In Shanghai last year.
