To-day's "A" Division Encounters.
Kowloon C.C. v. Chinese R.C. “A”
(at the E.C.C.) Indian R.C. v. South China A
(at. Sockenpen) Hong Kong C.C. v. South, China "g
ד.
(at the E.K.C.C.).
IDED by Dennis Hazell, who has competed at Wimbledon, the Chinese R.C. "B" v. University
(at Causeway Bay) Hong Kong Cricket Club caused a sensation yesterday when Club de Recreio v. Craigengower 6.0.
(at King's Park) they overcame the strong Kowloon Cricket Club team in the "B" Division of the Lawn Tennis League. Everything pointed to a com- fortable K.C.C. win, but poor teant work and superior play on the part of the visitors turned the tables. It is a severe setback to the mainlanders' hopes for the championship.
The Graduates' Association revealed their best form to provide the second surprise of the day when they beat the I.R.C. by a con- vincing margin.
D. S. Green and R. B. Hambly (KC.C.)-
lost to Hazell and Traill drew with Haigh

lost to D. H. Hazell and
R. S. Traill
The Chinese R.C., holders, secured a triumph at the expense lost to J. G. Haigh and T. of their South China rivals, while the Recreio and the U.S.R.C., Connelly..... strong contenders for the title, carried all before them in their beat H. Day and D. C. Dun-
encounters.
The splendid form of R. S. Traill, a comparatively new. comer to competitive tennis, was the feature of the Kow- loon-Club encounter. He ré vealed a powerful forehand drive and an attacking back- hand stroke to lend Hazeli every support. It says much for Traill's display when I say that Hazell, never at any stage of the match, revealed his true form.
