The Washington Correspondent of the "Daily News" states that it is learned at the White House from a prominent Democrat that the United States will go off the gold standard, officially as well as technically, to-morrow.

Chancellor Adolf Hitler is now master of Germany. His methods. have triumphed and the people have given a decisive vote of confidence. Not only is his own party returned with a record number of 287 seats, as compared with 196 in November, but with the other two Right Par- ties, the Nationalists and the German Peoples' Party, Chanceller Hitler has a clear majority, according to the provisional figures, of 23.--- Renter
Prussia, which held simultaneous elections, has also declared unmistakably for Chancellor Hitler. The Nazis have secured 206 seats in the Diet of 468 seats, and with the Nationalists' 43 seats, and the German Peoples' Party's 4 scats, be will have a clear ma- jority of 38. Socialists in Prussia have secured 79 seats, and the ― Reuter. Communists and Centre Party 62 and 67 respectively.
The polling was heavy and marked by considerable Communist losses. Slight gains were made by the Nationalists and the Centre Party, which is also likely to support the Hitler coalition. Irrespec- tive of their political opinions, most of the people are relieved that some form of political stability is now promised.
