to a Garden of Remembrance which is to be arranged and planted by the Gardens Division of the Urban Services Department. Drawings are also in progress for separate quarters for the crematorium and cemetery staff.
38. The Moslem mosque now in Kowloon is to be reprovided in the cemetery area, and sketch designs for the new building were prepared.
Parks and Playgrounds
39. A refreshment kiosk was completed at Victoria Park. The construction of two squash courts with spectators' galleries is in progress; drawings are in hand for a bandstand, model boat pool, shelter, and terracing to the Mound, all in Victoria Park.
40. Certain drawings have been completed, others are in hand, for the layouts, site formation, and construction of ancillary buildings for playgrounds at Li Cheng Uk, Fortress Hill, Ma Tau Wei, Chai Wan, and Fa Hui.
41. A grandstand was built at Southorn Playground, and drawings completed for a children's library at Argyle Street Playground. Designs are in hand for a library at King George V Playground; the architecture is to be in traditional Chinese style.
Latrines and Bath-houses, and Sanitation Stores
42. Four public latrines and bath-houses were completed; four more are in the course of construction, and drawings were completed for a further four. Drawings have also been completed for major alterations to nine latrines and bath-houses. Three sanitation and malaria stores were built.
NEW TERRITORIES ADMINISTRATION
43. The design and working drawings were completed for a composite building, suitable for rural districts, incorporating a post office, fire station, sanitary offices and store, and departmental quarters. The first two buildings on this design are to be built at Peng Chau and Shek Wu Hui. Designs have also started for a market at Sham Tseng.
Police Rank and File Quarters
POLICE
44. Construction is three-quarters complete of a large scheme at Cheung Sha Wan, Kowloon, which will provide 826 police rank and file quarters.
