Mrs. James Eliminates Miss R. Hancock
Miss Enid Lo Favoured For Triple Crown
MISS PULLUM'S PROMISE
(By Ray.)
TRS, C. P. F. JAMES yesterday}
MR
qualised to meet Miss Enid
Lo in the Final Round of the Ladies Singles Championship when she de-} feated Miss R. Hancock · after a stirring struggle by 6-4, 2-6, 0-4 ari the U.S.R.C. courts.
The game which was umpired by LL-Col. E. J. de C. Boys M.C., was] of a ding dong nature with ex- perience triumphing over youth. Miss Hancock put up a plucky battle after her recent illness, and a good deal will be heard of her in next year's championships. In the previous round she surprised the critics by eliminating Miss Thomas, last year's runner-up, in a great battle between two left handed players.
Mrs. James, who has never be fore won the championship, will be

UNPARALLELED FEAT Mrs. Tottenham, who has recent ly been under doctor's orders, show ed last Sunday that she has lost: none of her prowess. Her driv. ing had good length and only het overhead work showed signs of lack of practice. With a week's practice behind ber since her last match she will have regained her old confidence and should give Enid Lo every opportunity to record a triple win and a clean sweep of all the Colony's major titles.....
To achieve the triple crown, is
best, and it was only due to her splendid recovery in the final set that she and Mrs. Lochner reached the Final Round.
