In the women's doubles, Frau- leina Krahwinkel and Peltz beat Misses Heeley and Stammers, 6-3, B2.
.
The men's doubles was disap pointing. The Englishmen never put their weight into the fight, and were not in unison. Crawford al- ways produced an unexpected coup in the critical games, and frequent ly a surprise passing shot, which left the Englishmen guessing. Crawford and Hopman adopted an unorthodox formation. Hopman standing in the same court when Crawford served to Hughes. These unorthodox tactics secured many points. Hopman was in splendid form.. He smashed wonderfully, and played his service and strokes with great power and accuracy.
