Jack Hobbs Collapses At The Oval
Attack Of Sunstroke
Hobbs collapsed with sunstroke at the Oval, after an angry scene in which the crowd howled protests at Bowes, Yorkshire's bespectacled fast bowler. Hobbs made 90 before he was caught. He turned and walked to the pavilion. Hardly had he crossed the threshold when he collapsed, and lay white and still on the floor of the pavilion.
Members of the Surrey team and attendants rushed to his side. They lifted him up, and carried him to a table in the dressing-room. It was some time before Hobbs came round. He looked about him

The last two heads provided a magnificent conclusion to a grand match, Brown drawing his shot and tieing the scores and Omar registering the winning, shot to culminate a great personal triumph.
!
U. M. Omar and A. J. Hall were undoubtedly the most promin- ent players in the match, and to Omar can be attributed the Hong Kong victory.
The two teams were as follow:-Hong Kong R. S. Nichol, B. W. Bradbury, J. C. Brown and U. M. Omar (skip). Shanghai C. M. Sequeira, A. McGregor, N. Harrison and A. J. Hall.
The second game in the Interport series of three matches will be played to-day. The Hong Kong team is unchanged and Shang- hai will be represented by C. W. Glover, G. B. Stormes, A. Raitt and G. Dunlop (skip). Reserve: J. V. Jensen. This is considered to be Shanghai's strongest rink and the visitors will have to fight desperately hard if they are to avoid defeat and thus lose their early advantage.
