FOUND SHOT.

Mr. Michael Rooney Succumbs.

POPULAR OFFICER.

Mr. Michael Rooney, a warder at the La Chi Kok Gol, la believed to have shot himself on the Castle Peak Road out- aide the prison precincts at 1.45 The o'clock, yesterday afternoon.

bullet entered the right temple, and Mr. Ronney died in the Kowloon Hospital within an hour.

He was found in the road, his revolver by his side.

It appears that Mr. Rooney parad. ed for duty as usual at "1.15 p.m. He then left the Prison for the pur- pose of taking charge of a working party near the Female Gaol
