BRITISH LINER'S NEW
"
RECORD.
Empress of Britain's" Fast Crossing.
The new British liner, Empress of Britain, pride of the Canadian Pacific Rect; set up a new record recently. All existing records for the trip from Cherbourg to Canada went by the board when the vessel, the biggest built in Britain since. the War, passed Father Point, Quebec, only 4 days 7 hrs. 59 mins. from Cherbourg breakwater.,
This time clips 62 minutes off the record set by the same liner some time ago.
The distance from Cherbourg to Quebec is 2,742 miles which means that on this record passage the ship averaged well over 26" knots an hour,
For the voyage from Cherbourg
B.I. Apear Line steamers have excellent accommodation for to the Ambrose Light, New York, 1st and 2nd class passengers,
