The fire broke out at about 8.15, in the Club's seaplane hangar which is situated about 200 yards from the new permanent hangar. The latter structure was never in danger, as the wind blew the sparks clear of the building, which & is built of fire resisting material. Built two years ago when the Club members were being trained on the V.R.-H.A.B. the hangar was used to house the seaplane, but when training on land machines commenced, the seaplane hangar went into disuse, except as a dump- ing ground for waste material.
