The players have not been slow to seize their opportunity. He cannot afford to give top- heavy salaries to one or two people, at the expense of all the rest of the east, and possibly to run the risk of impoverishing his film. Still less can be afford to let the playera be snapped up by his American rivals.
Most British producers are try- ing to solve the salary problem by! | discovering and training new talent, but when new talent becomes ex- perlenced the chances are that it will fall to America 'just the same.
