SELK'S LEADERSHIP.
At King's Park yesterday the Y.M.C.A. first eleven defeated the 3/9th Jat Regiment by the odd goal in three. It was a fast game throughout and though they were playing with four reserves in the side and one horrowed player, the Y.M.C.A. were full value for their victory.
The "Y" forward line turned out at full strength yesterday for the frut time this season, and their good understanding yesterday
afternoon augurs well for the future. It is a fast combination admirably led by F. Selk who is a deadly marksman inside the circle.
The "Y" were the first to score, Selk finding the net as the result of perfect forward movement operated from the right. They held their lead until half way through the second half when the Jat Inside left equal'sed as the re- sult of a smart raid on the home
goal. Five minutes before the close Burnett gave the "y" their winning goal.
For the Y.M.C.A. Skinner play- ed a great game in goal and was largely responsible for saving his side during one exciting raid in the second half. Mitchell at half- back also played a sterling game in defence.

New York, Yesterday. Mrs. Moody (Miss Helen Wills) and her husband are to sail for the Far East aboard the liner Preal- dent Coolidge on her malden trip. The voyage will be somewhat of a "basman's" holiday for, while Mrs. Moody will participate in several tenis tournaments, her husband, who is a stock-broker, will have charge of the brokerage office aboard the President Coolidge. They will call at Yokohama, Shang- hal, Hong Kong and Manila.-Reu- ter's American Service.
