MR. SHOEMAKER.
Death in Singapore from
Heart Failure.
FORMERLY IN HONG KONG.
Singapore, Sept. 25. Mr. W. M. Shoemaker, of the Standard Oil Company of New York, died suddenly in Singapore yesterday at the age of 37 from heart failure while in the General': Hoepital suffering from malaria.
Mr. Shoemaker had been in charge of the Standard Oil Com. pany of New York Installation at Pulo Sebarok for the past five- years. Before coming to Singapore He had been in the service of the company in Canton, Hong Kong. and Manila. Mr. Shoemaker made a great many friends since hla arrival in Singapore, and will be greatly missed by all those who Co.knew him. As a mark of respect, the Standard Oll Company offices were closed yesterday afternoon.
He is survived by his, widow in Singapore and his mother, Mrs. Joseph Scudler Shoemaker, who is in America.
