In hie latest starring M-G-M vehicle,
The Devil To Pay" he is seen as
the young scapegrace, free and easy going son of a wealthy British Peer, never worrying and always doing right in the eyes of women!
The film, based on a story by Frederick Lonsdale, is most enter- taining and is completely void of any sensationalism, thus giving the aidience the right atmosphere.
Mr. Colman is delightful. He is RO because of his natural acting. Mies Young, playing opposite in the lead, is attractive and an actress of the sincere type.
Mr. Kerr, who is most suited to peerage rales, karries all honours before him, his peculiar mannerisms in dealing with his "defaulting" son giving scope to spicy humour. The supporting cast all do well.
The story, briefly, is this, Miss Young is engaged to be married to but the inevitable Mr. Cavanagh, on the scene and spoils everything third party (Mr. Colman) comes for the prospective bridegroom, but, Incidentally, not for the girl!
It is of interest to mention here that, in order to give the production the essential details of London settings, British
and customs speech, Mr. Samuel Goldwyn, the producer, acquired the skilled ser- vices of Lady Maureen Stanley. Her co-operation is largely respon- sible for the success which the film has already attained.
