A proportion of the lower Naval ratings of the Atlantic Fleet having expressed dissatisfaction with the proposed cut in wages; and as "Unrest" made itself evident in their midst, Rear Admiral Wilfred Tomkinson decided to suspend the Exercises upon which the Flect was to have started on September 22, and return to Port.
The Fleet was in the North Sea, where the manoeuvres were to have been held, so it is now re-assembling at Invergordon in Scottish waters.
The men's grievances are to be investigated and a report will be submitted to the Admiralty Board for consideration.
