GOOD RACING AT MACAO.
Surprising Defeat of Mindoro.
MANY HONG KONG VISITORS.
Beautiful weather favoured the inaugural meeting of Macao Jockey Club yesterday, and the big contingent of visitors from Hong Kong, thoroughly enjoyed the sport, the arrangements for which went of without the slight- est hitch.
There were no first-class ponies taking part, but nevertheless some good racing was seen, one or two "good things" coming un- stuck in the process. The big- gest upset was the crushing de- feat of Mindoro in the Yuen Sue Stakes. Mr. H. C. Lee - winning very well on Sonny Boy to pay the biggest dividend of the day, $31.80.

Rugby, Saturday, The first race for the British In- ternational Trophy will take place at Detrolt to-day, when Kaye Don, driving Lord Wakefield's ""Miss England II", challenges America's three fastest boats including "Miss America IX", driven by Commander Gar Wood.
"Misa England. II's" record over the measured mile is 110 miles an hour. This is believed to be nearly ten miles an hour faster than any of her rivals, but she may have to contend with the backwash of the three boats and the course includes 2a sharp turn.-British Wireless
Service.
