The usual batch of traffic offen- ders was dealt with by Mr. Schofield in the Central Police Court this morning.
Summoned for dangerous driv. ing, the Chinese driver of a public motor car was fined $20. Trafic - Sergeant AR. Brittain said that on June 22 last at 2 am. he was proceeding on hia motor cycle in Des Voeux Road Central from east to west. When near Exchange Building he saw the defendant drive his car out of Pedder Street and go-round the beacon between 25 and 30 miles an | hour. Defendant narrowly missed running Into Jardine's building.

Bedlam, personally directed by two boa constrictors from Brit- ish Honduras, reigned in St. Charles Street for an hour the other night.
The snakes, brought to New Orleans to be presented to the city Zoo, broke out of their box in an hotel and descended upon the patio restaurant, below. One, five and a half feat long, wrapped himself around a post in front of the cafe, while the other, a giant of 11. feet,, made his way to the kitchen and colled around a venti- lator.
