OIL TANKER OUTLOOK.

One And Half Million Tons Laid Up.

"Last year, for the first time, oil production and consumption were very materially reduced," said Sir Frederick Mills, Bart, chairman, at the fourth annual meeting of the British Oil Shipping Co., Ltd. The oil tanker tonnage was 13,000,000 tons, and shipbuilders were so satisfied that there was 1 great future for the all-carrying trade that they in conjunction with owners, undoubtedly laid down a large number of ships.

Unfortunately, at the present were one-and-a-half time there million tons of oil-carrying capa city laid up and unable to obtain About one month employment.

sgo the ships of the company were satisfactorily employed. But now three cut of the fleet of four were laid up, and at the end of her pre-

fitted to have a cruising range of 3,000 miles.

Both the co-pilot and himself, Post says, will complete training in biind flying "to a proficiency that is at least equal to that ar- rived at by anyone else so far."

He did not reveal the names of

his crew, but said the flight will be backed

of by F. C. Hall Oklahoma City, and that the venture is fully financed and as Hured.

The itinerary is similar to the one mapped by John Henry Mears, the world in 35 days, 21 hours, and veteran globe trotter, who circled 3 minutes in 1913. In 1928, with the late Captain C. B. C. Collyer, he lowered the mark to 23 days, 15 hours, and 21 minutes.
