Committee to Discuss
Pattern and Fit.
THE CHINA MAIL.
Now that the Admiralty have Ret up a committee to inquire into various questions concerning the uniform of the petty officers) and men of the Navy, a number of important changes are likely to take place.
The annual welfare conference was set up some time ago to give the men of the Navy an oppor- tunity to stute grievances and ask for reforms.
The.committee has been form- ed to "inquire into and report on the fit and cut of garments, the description of material used, and the suitability of patterns." There in a nutshell lies two-thirds of the cause of dissatisfäction.

Serious injury to two of the Shamallan's seamen during a storm and the urgent need of hospital attention for them in- spired this unusual trip into port. It was arranged between Captain H. R. The Shamalian, which is well known to the coastguard, released under bond hardly a month ago after capture in De- ecember. When she wirelessed 29 for help, asking the Sebago to 08 take her injured men ashore,
