The first voyage of the cargo motorship Barbarigo, built by the Cantiere, Navale Triestino di Monfalcone for the Societa Veneziana di Navigazione a Vapore, to British India may be considered very successful, con- sidering the present depression, states the Genca correspondent of the Journal of Commerce. The Badbarigo is one of four sister-ships specially built for the company for the Indian ser- vice with the object of increasing trade with India, not only from Italy, but also with Centrul Europe through the Italian ports. panya sum equal to half the Suez Canal tolls for the service from Venice, and last year a simi- lar concession was made to the ships sailing from Genoa, subject to a minimum of nine sailings a year with ships of a speed not less than 14 knots.
