The syndicate Was organised some days ago by Manila and Ba- guio capitalists for the purpose of developing four mining groups in the Benguet mineral district. Of the total authorized capital of half a million pesos, P250,000 will be offered to the public in shares of one peso euch.
Work To Start Soon.
It is reported that a considerable
number of shares has already been subscribed locally. One reason for the readiness of local investors to secure shares is that the company's properties adjoin two of the richest mining properties in the Benguet district, Balatoc and Itogon...
Actual work will be started on February 1. it 13 understood. Directors of the company stated that they have enough money on hand to start the diggings.
Mr. Whitmarsh has A good deal of experience with mining ventures, being a shareholder in several producing mines. Before the syndicate was organized, exten.

Easy To Sell,
Regarding the sale of shares in Hong Kong, Mr. Whitmarsh be lieves that little difficulty will be encountered in securing buyera from that city. An upward swing of business is evident in the Bri- tish port, and brokers are taking advantage of the investment move- ment. The conditions at present are in striking contrast with con- ditiona Inst year when the drop in silver caused a lull in trade, he stated. Of course the element of speculation enters in the present upward trend of business, but signs of real activity are not lacking, ac- cording to Mr. Whitmarsh
Carl Hess, president of the Sala. tot Exploration Co., with a party of mining engineera returned re- cently from, an inspection of the company's holdings in Bulacan pro- vince. It is understood that some substantial discoveries have been made and that these will be te- veloped as rapidly as possible.
