How the Infantry is Affected.

There is a serious shortage in the Army of both officers and men, October, 1929, the doficiency in men was approximately 9,500, In April of this year the shortage in the establishment was 11,500. As to the commissloned ranks, the Army to-day has to meet the keen competition of, the commercial world. The actual shortage, last April, of subalterns was 231.
