NEW SUBMARINES.
OTWAY AND OXLEY JOIN BRITISH NAVY,
Rugby, Yesterday. An offer from the Commonwealth of Australia to transfer from the Royal Australian Navy to the Royal Navy the submarines Otway and Oxley, has been accepted, and the vessels will shortly join the Mediterranean Fleet, taking the place of older submarines, two of which will now be scrapped.
The Otway and Oxley were com- pleted in 1927, and have a displace- ment of 1,535.tons, with an arma- ment of one four inch, one small- gun. and eight torpedo tubes. -British Wireless Service,

SIGHTED BY. DUTCH MOTOR TANKER.
On arrival in harbour at 2 p.m. yesterday, the Dutch motor tanker Utrecht (Captain J. H. Kop), which is now alongside the Asiatic Petro- leum Company's installation at Tal- koktauf, reported at 'the' Harbour Office that whilst she was at sea on Wednesday on the voyage to Hong Kong from Tàmsui, she sighted a derlict junk at 5 p.m. The junk, the stern of which was showing above water, was in lat. 22.42, long. 116.18. Subsequently the Utrecht gave warning by means of the morse lamp to three passing ships and requested them to inform Hong Kong by radio,
