A message received from a merchant vessel during the week that piratical junks were operating in nearby waters, and had attacked a junk owned in Hong Kong, caused the Naval authorities to rush H.M.S. Somme to the scene. The junks and their crews were rounded up, and the alleged pirates later were charged in the Police Court. Details appear in the OVERLAND CHINA MAIL.
