Writing in Scouts in Ships, the The St. Andrew's Boy Scout official organ of the Deep Sea troop is still flourishing. Scouts, one of the latest branches SM. has his hands very full rag- of the Boy Scout Movement, Vice-ning the troop, and is getting on Admiral A. V. Campbell, Head-as famously as ever. The "Barnes" quartera Commissioner for Sea Cup competition is continuing Scouts, referring to the fact that space and generai keenness to be Deep Sea Scouts occasionally met the first victors, is shown by all with chaff regarding their member- boys, ship of the Movement says: "A. THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK.
Triumph may be very close when you imagine defeat inavitable.
DURHAM SCOUTS REACH 10,000.
For many years the Boy Scouts of Durham County have looked for- ward to attaining the 10,000 mark in their membership.
This they have now achieved for the first time in their history.
Ten years ago, in 1920, Durham Scouts numbered 3,800. They have thus more than doubled their num- bers in that period.
During the year just ended-Sep- tember 30 is the end of the Boy Scouts" official year-Durham Scouts increased by 1,600 and start- ed 48 new Scout Groups in various parts of the county.
SCOUTING UNLIMITED.
In presenting the Annual Report to the Scoutmasters of Brisbane, Australia, the District Commis- sioner said, "Gentlemen, I have much pleasure in presenting to you, my fellow shareholders, or rather sharers in the undertaking, the report and balance sheet of the Game of Scouting Unlimited in Brisbane."
A PORT OF CALL,
A den for Deep Sea Scouts, the branch, of the Boy Scout Move- ment for seafaring Scouts, is now open at Port Said. Through the kindness of Mion Broach, a good hut has, been placed at the dis- posal of Deep Sea Scouts visiting the district.
