While the export and import trade of the Great Lakes will be the primary object of the enter prise, the importance of Mortier Bay as a general port of call must not be lost sight of. Nor must its value as a potential air base, a junction for converging, air lines, be omitted from calculation. Within a few years the North Atlantic may be traversed by a number of competing air lines, which will operate from different harbours and by different routes, There will be at least three routes the northward, by the Faroe Island, Greenland, and Labrador; the southern, by the Azores and Newfoundland.
