NOTE:

The majority of the samples shewing B. Coli present in 50 cc or less of filtered and chlorinated water came from three areas :— Shau Ki Wan, Waterloo Road and Kai Tak. In the case of these areas pollution was traced to defective piping and after repairs were carried out the samples were above standard. In the case of the few other bad samples the inside services were washed out and chlorinated.
