One of the most remote spots in the inhabitable world will be sought out by astronomers and scientists next October in order that they may view the next eclipse of the sun.
The eclipse will be visible over the South Pacific, partial cellpse begin. ning at sunset at Cape Horn, South America, and at sunrise in eastern Australia, on October 21 or 22 (ac cording to the side of the date line from which it is observed).
Totality, however, will be confined to a small area in the South Pacific, over a path stretching from south east to northwest between the Fiji and Samoan islands.
