The situation looked serious, ao the Civic Guards, summoned from Waterford, aped to Dunmore by motor car, boarded the French trawlers and recaptured the pots and fishing gear, in spite of via- lent resistance.

Victory for Sir Robert Ha Tung.
POLL RESULTS.
Sir Robert Ho Tung, it will be remembered, strongly opposed the policy of the Hong Kong, Canton, and Macao Steamboat Company, Limited, in farming out the Chin. ese freight and passenger business to the same formér, Mr. Woo Hay- tong, at the nesting of the Company which was held on March 4. Many heated discussions occurred, and Sir Robert Ho Tung'a motion that the Company should abandon the then present farmer was carried by 34 votes to 22.
Mr. C. Gordon Mackie, Chairman of the Company, however, called for a poll, and the results of the poll, which was taken two days ago, are as follows:-
According to Clauso 75 of the Articles of Association of the Com- pany, "Upon a poll every member; present in person or by proxy shall | have one vote for each share held by him up to ten and an additional vote for each complete ten shares beyond the first ten." Only "share- holders whose names
were on the register on March 4, 1930, and whose shares have not been disposed of are entitled to vote. The total number of shares of the 'Company is 20,000 of which 3447 have been disposed of:
