MARINERS WARNED.
New Light at Ockseu Light-Station
The installation of the new lighting apparatus at Ockaeu Light-station will be completed on or about April 24 from which date the new
light will be exhibited without further notice.
The new lighting apparatus will be dioptric, of the first order, and will have power of 600,000 candles.
The character of the new light will be group-flashing, showing four white flashes in quick succes+ alon every 20 seconds,
and will be visible 24 miles in clear weather. The height of the centre of the light above high water is 286 feet.
The above Information is 4.5 atated in the 1930 "List of Light- houses, etc., on the Coast of China."
The temporary lights which are at present being exhibited will be discontinued simultaneously with the exhibition of the new light.

-FERRY CAPSIZES. Over a Hundred Persons Drowned.
Tokyo, Yesterday, Over a hundred persons are be- ieved to have been drowned as a
result of the capsizing of a ferry boat, the Wakato Maru, carrying three hundred passengers from Wakamata. In northern Kyushu, to Tobata.
