Converse Seeks Divorce
Converse M. Converse, grandson of Edwin Converse, who was one of the founders of the United States Steel Corporation, filed a suit for divorce in the district court at Rero against Marian Converse (above). The complainant charges extreme cruelty. There are no children.
Modiste Seeks $100,000
"He took my measurement for an engagement ring, set the date for our wedding, and promised me a trip around the world, I trusted him." That is the reason, according to Dorothy M. Wilson, modiste, that Ralph L. Knapp, wealthy linen importer, and twice a candidate for Mayor of Los Angeles, is the defendant in her suit for $100,000.

Tex Rankin, well-known aviator with his great Lakes air-cooled motored plane just after he had
set a new world's record for consecutive outside loops with a mark of nineteen in 34 tries. The pre- vious record was made at the Cleveland Air Race last summer sad was 13 loops. An outside loop is one in which the pilot is on the rim of the circle and the landing gear of the 'plane is toward the centre. It must be started with a dive and finished with a climb.
Flight Not Thrilling!
These 82-year-old twins, Mrs. R. J. Sparks and J. S. Sitten, of Los Angeles, recently made their first aeroplane excursion at Clover Field, Santa Monies, and astonished their friends when they returned by calmly announcing that they had not found the experience nearly as exciting as they had expected. In fact, they said they had found erossing the western plairs from Illinois to California in a covered waggon much more thrilling.
