The Navy took charge of the game in the second half, when they could do everything but score. Pau Ka-ping, who was very hard pressed, came through a gruelling time with great credit, as even the Navy backs were up on the half-way line backing up the at- tack, and taking an occasional pot at goal.

Club Defeat the Somersets
The Club defeated the Somerset Light Infantry by four goals to one on the U.S.R.C. ground, yesterday.
The game was well contested through- unfor→ out, and the Somersets were tunate to lose by such a large margin. They were a better team than the score suggests. The Club defence were in great form,, and repeated assaults by their opponents were repelled.
The Club attack showed better com- bination, and for the first part of the game they dominated the play, secur- ing a four goal lead through Owen Hughes, Frost (2) and Noronha. The coldiers, however, were not discouraged and fought back commendably. The vicitors' defence were sorely tried to the latter end of the first half, but managed to remain firm.
The secon, half yielded only one goal --for the Somersets, through Corporal Richardson. The soldiers deserved better lock, but they were up against a sterling defoner.
When Berg appeared here he was the usual British type of leather thrower," standing up and relying on the "good left," which these days 'leaves so much to be desired unless something more goes with it. About two bouts taught the difference between British and United States methods, and he metamorphosed himself into a fistic whirlwind.- Sporting Chronicle's New York correspondent.
