THE MARTYR KING.-The 281st anniversary of the execution of King Charles I was celebrated in customary manner by a service at St. Martin's Church, Trafalgar Square, London, followed by a procession of sympathisers of the late monarch to his statue in Trafalgar Square, where wreaths were pinced and the last post sounded.--(Sport and General).

A COSTLY GIFT.-The complete traditional dress of Abyssinian Emperor, offered to H.M. Mgr. Anba Johannes by the Emperor. When Mgr. Johannes, the Patriarch, visited Abyssinia, he received many gifts from the Emperor and the Government, including the above robe. (Sport and General).
