Mrs. Southorn at 6 p.m. yester- day. Mrs. R. M. Dyer, President of the Society, in calling upon Mrs. Southern, said it was fifty years since the Society had hold a show in the City Hall. She felt sure that the Hall had never looke: prettier. (Applause.)
Continuing, Mrs. Dyer polated out that the weather during the year, what with a drought, then intense cold, followed by fog, had not been conducive to good ex- hibits. However, there was fear for the Society's Juture. The Secretary of the Club would be glad to give any advice on flowers to anybody who cared to apply.
по
Mrs. Dyer returned thanks to those who had helped to make the Show a success, mentioning, be- sides the Society's judges, the Art Club, who had adjudged the table decorations.

HONG KONG TIDE
The tide-table given below ba been obtained by aid of the Tide-pre- dicting Machine, which includes 40 components for the better-prediction of tider, from the result of the analysis of the tidal observations, taken at the Kowloon tidal observa tory under the direction of Dr. Doberck during the years 1887, 1888 and 1889.
The times and heights are given for Kowloon; but they may be good for the Victoria Naval Yard And Aberdeen, the differences being very small.
The times of high and low-water must not be considered to coincide with the times of slack-water and change of current, the two phenomena being quite distinct.
