REVIVAL OF HUNTING AT CAMBRIDGE.-Scene at the Cambridge Harriers meet on Market Hill, Cambridge, last month. BIG CITY FIRE. Three hundred London Bremen, equipped with gas-maske powerful searchlights and other appliances, fought desperately to prevent a fire, which raged in four basements in Houndsdites, from spreading. FINDING NEW WORK FOR THE UNEMPLOYED MINERS-Miners from the distressed areas are now making a recreation ground at Carshalton Surrey Two hundred and fifty of them are being trained in various occupations by the Ministry of Labour in conjunction with the National Playing Fields Association. They are paid 28 shillings a week with board and lodging given end, when proficient, pochpation will be found for them. The miners are seen here at work on the recreation ground.
