The Sergeant said that there were, in fact, three men concerned in the attempt, but the other get away. The three men were noticed by two Chines: detectives walking near the Ho Tung Building (old Fire Station) going in the direction of the Western Market, and the way they sized

The plaintiff in the action was Mr. Hassaram Glanchand, trading as the Kashmir Silk Store, ground floor, No. 98A, Queen's Road Central who sued Mr. Li Koon-chun, his landlord, for the recovery of $203.67 being damages to a quantity of silk goods as a result of a to- rential rain which caused water to leak through the roof.

AN OPIUM DIVAN
Pleading guilty to a charge of unlawful possession of 5.5 mace of prepared opium, a Chinese was at the Kowloon Magistracy this morning before Mr. W. Schofield" fined $44, with the alternative of one month's hard labour.
His wife was also charged, but she pleaded not guilty, and was discharged.
