BRITAIN'S AIRSHIPS

R.101 Condemned By Naval Critic

V

NOT OF REAL USE

Only Hope Is Longer Vessel, To Take From the Sea

FUTURE OF THE AIR

The new airships 1.100 and R.101 are severely criticised by Commander Sir Dennis Burney in "The World, the Air, and the Future." The position is all the more extraordinary because Sir Dennis Burney, more than any other individual, was responsible for the British Goyerminent re-embarking on the construction of airships. It is unlikely that any official reply will be given to the criticisms. The view is taken that the trial flights alone will give any definite and decisive information upon the performance of the airship.
