The past week's football will be looked back upon by the various Clubs in the League with mixed feelings. For most of the military teachs it has been t disastrous period. Both K.O.S.B. teams have stained their excutcheon by sustaining their first defents of the season, and on each occasion the set-back occurred on their own en- closure at Sookumpon.
The Somersets were the other First Division side to have their dax lowered for the first time in their encounter with the Chinese Athletic at the Stadium.
Kowloon and South China "A" are now the only participants in the League with an unbeaten re- cord. The former cannot he too

warmly praised for their display against K.O.S.B. last Saturday. They rose to the occasion in a man- Joseph's. ner which brought back vivid memories of the days when they performer mighty deeds in the Colony. With such formidable defence they are bound to go fur this season, provided they are not unlucky in the matter of injuries. With the R.A. losing to the Navy at Caroline Hill there was not a military side in the premier divi sion to take a point. The Navy gave a vastly improved display, doubtless due to the inclusion, for K.os.B. the first time this season, of such Kowloon stalwarts as Jarvis, Van Tronip, Navy and Firth from H.M.S. "Hermes." The big sensation in the Junior section was the remarkable defeat sustained on Wednesday by the K.O.S.B. in their encounter with the. Somersets. The latter had not been going any too strongly this season, while the, Borderera had been carrying everything before them in, irresistible style. The game serves to prove the glorious uncertainty of "soccer," for the Somersets not only won but won on their merits.
The losers have not even the ex cuse that a surprise early goal threw them off their balance. They were the first to find the net but lost their lead prior to the interval. The second half was productive of a titanic struggle, and amidat great excitement the visitors got ahead in the last few minutes of the lead was an outstanding game. player in their side.
