The general annual meeting of the Fanting Hunt Club was held yester- day evening in the board room of Messrs, Jardine, Matheson & Co., Ltd. Mr. M. M. Watson presided and ho paid a warm tribute to the good work performed by the late Dr. Pierce Grove,
the Hunt Mr. Watson snid that skoull be incorporated is a Club, and
the name suggested was "The Fanling Hunt and Race Club."
Dr. MacGown proposed this: "Mr. Shenton seronded, and it was carried auanimously.
Late Dr. Pierce Grove. Addressing the meeting, Mr. Watson Haid, inter alit:
It has probably been present to the minds of all of us since entering this room that this year wormoel without the presence of one who was largely responsible for our existence, the late Dr. Pierce Grove.
I felt that everybody present who know him must of necessity have been, his personal friend and it is unneces sary for me to enlarge on the charm and personality which endeared him to ug and to all with whom he came into con
tact.
It has been very largely due to him.
who imbated the Fanling Hunt with his own spirit, that the Fanling Hunt
has been such a very pleasant thing to be connected with and I feel sure that If we carry on in the spirit which has hitherto animated the Hunt we shall not only secure to ourselves the con- tinuance of the present friendly and sporting relationship but we will also be erecting a living testimony to his menury.
