"Hard Up" Opposing the application, Mr. Leo d'Almada e Castro, Jr. said that Mr. Jenkin had admitted that 'the ap- plicant had virtually alleged that the registration (the vacation of which was now sought) **Wal nothing more than blackmail" on the part of plaintiffs, Mr. d'Almada also dealt with a suggestion by applicant that plaintiffs had had some of their Macao property at- tached, that one of them had served & year in the debtors' prison in Macao and, hence, that plaintifs had brought the action because they were "hard up."
This allegation of blackmail was so general, Mr d'Almada argued, and no remotely connected with the subject matter of the action' that It was of no value. There was ample evidence to the effect that the action was brought bona fide and he, coun sel, therefore asked that the applica- tion be dismissed.
