Shareholders in rubber-producing companies and themselves in bewil derment, inasmuch as the price of rubber does not respond to the im- proving statistical position, which, according to the natural law of supply and demand, should result in a higher petes for rubber. The res- son for this artificial position and unduly low price for rubber, which is pnwarranted by the
general out- look for the Industry, is simply that the Amerlean buying syndicate con- trols the whole rubbor market and is extraordinarily successful in keep- ing the market in check, and that, unfortunately, nothing appears to be done in the interest, of rubber-pro ducing companies with the view of counteracting the American price manipulation.
