KWANGSI NOTES
TO RE REDEEMED BY GOVERNMENT
EXCHANGE FOR BONDS
Canton, Yesterday. During the last provincial war, General Wong Shao-hung issued a large quantity of notes for the pay- ment of Kwangsi troops. These notes after the war became practi- eally worthless, and ceased to be- come legal tender. Recently, how- ever, the money changers in Canton started to buy in these Kwangsi notes at 85 per cent. discount. Enquiry as to the reason for this buying reveals that the Xwangai Government is contemplating the redemption of these notes by exchanging them with the Kwangsi Bund Construction Bonds.-Canton News Agency.
