Chinese Students Going Abroad Given Farewell Reception
Over 200 Chinese students (Tringtva, Belgian-Boxer-Inde:maity Fund, private and officially sent students), who are golig abroad to pursue their studies, were entertained at a tea reception, by 20 Chinese educational organisations kended by the World's Chinese Students Federation. The brilliant affair took place at the Majestic Hotel, Shanghai, and was attended by more than 300 perans, including representatives from the American Consulate General (Mr. J. B. Sawyer), and Chinese oficial and educational organs. Mr. Chen Teh-chan, Chief of the Bureau of Education, presided and delivered a short but precise address. Mayor Chang Chun, Dr. M. Y. Tsu, Mr. Sawyer and local college professors also gave valuable addresses-(Ah Fong).
