Lawrence Sorenson, of New York, Columbia Universlty gradțiate and athlete, accused of grand larceny, is said to have confessed he took $179,000 in securities from the Equit able Trust Co. of New York where he was employed, to play the stock market. He returned all but $7,000.

The top view shows the runaway at Tacoma, Wash, down which Lt. Bromley, meet, of Van- conver attempted to hop off for non-stop flight to Tokyo. Spray from leaking gasoline tank temporarily blinded him with the result that the plane went into a ground loop and crashed. Bromley, who was uninjured, announced he will be ready to start again as soon as repairs have been made to the plane.

No surprise was the announcement of the Paris wedding of Eugene O'Neill noted American playwright, freed by divorce a few weeks ago, to Carlotta Monterey, American actress. This is the third marriage of the author of "Strange Interlude" and "All God's Chillan Got Wings." The actress was formerly the third wife of Ralph Barton, famous ill- trator, whom she divorced in 1928,
