World's Chineer Students Perleration were hosts at a reception giver in Winter Garden of the China United Apartments, Shanghai, in honour of a group of Chinese students who are proceeding to Belgium to further their studies under the auspices of the Sino-Belge Commission of the Boxer Fudemnity Funds. Mr. P. K. Chu, General Servplary of the Federation, presided. Dr. M. Y. Tsa, President of the Sino-Belge Commission, and many other prominent Belgians and Chinese were also present. (Ab Fong).

"See His Majesty Off"On both inside and outside of the Tien An Gate of Peking, there stand a pair of marble columns, each measuring about 2 feet high and 8 feet round. Having arms on the upper part, they look like huge crosses, and on their tep a strange animal crouches, which is called "Sre His Majesty Of." This name was perhaps given them because they invariably saw the Emperor when he went out of the palace. Against them, the pair which are inside the Gate are called "See His Majesty in."

Lady Astor Has a Trying Day. Lady Nancy Astor was called "n dirty liar" in Parliament during a turbulent session when she was accused of whispering that Jack Jones, Labourite, was drunk. Jack later retracted those werds buf declared he was a better man drank than she was sober. The Speaker rebuked the "Honourable Lady" for interrupting a serious debate. All in all it was a tough day for her.

ago at Pottsville, Pa. Mr. Lambert, vice-president of the Von

Hoffman Aircraft Co., was killed at St. Louis, Mo., when the plane in which he und Harold Jones, a student aviator, were flying, crashed to earth. Jones died in the hospital.
