The magistrabe, of Sang chih. haien in Hupsh province has cabled the Cen- tral Government that Ho Lung, the notorious "Red" leader, burned 40 to 50 persona, massacred over 300 families, and destroyed by fire 2,080 houses. Over 20,000 people have fied from his district.

Or his last trip to Shanghai, Marshal Chiang Kai-shek expressed a desire to inspect the 6th Division of the Army but, owing to the tension created by the Sino-Russian dispute, he returned to Nanking without carrying out his in- tention.

It is understood that Marshal Chiang will return to Shanghai short- ly to make the inspection, which will very probably be carried-out at the Lunghus Aerodrome.

At about 7 pm, on July 17, Lung Sara-ku, aged 55. years, residing at No. 11, Landale-street, first floor, was found lying murdered at the above address.
