Gist of the Bill

The gist of the bill is as follows: It is brought by the duly constituted officials of The Parent Church in

America, on behalf of themselves and of all the other members of The Parent Church, against the Chris- tian Science Board of Directors and Clifford P. Smith.

After stating the organisation of The Parent Church, and the relation

of the defendants to the "Mother Church," and summarising the con- troversies that have developed be-

tween representatives of the two churches on questions of organisa tion, co-operation with physicians, Mrs. Eddy's alleged plagiarism and personal employment of physicians and the use of drugs, and the legal status of "The Christian Science Watchman," the bill goes on to state that The Parent Church, among other methods of propagating and advancing the religion of Christian Science as understood by the mem- bers of that Church, has made dur- ing the past few years several con- tracts with radio systemis for broadcasting lectures. Also that it has attempted a general circulation of "The Watchman" and other publications.
