C.I.M. SCHOOLS
Successes Of Kowloon Pupils
FULL LIST OF WINNERS
As reported exclusively in the "China Mail" yesterday, Kowloon pupils figure prominently in the list of prize-winners at the Chefoo Schools (China Inland Mission).
[From Our Own Correspondent.]
Cheloo, July 26. The Closing Exercises of the C. I. M. Girls' School took place on Tuesday afternoon, 23rd inst., in the Memorial Hall, when a large company of relatives and friends gathered to enjoy the programme, which is always a musical treat..
The Rev. Paul Abbott was Chair- man and in his address, which was
an exceptionally long one for such an occasion, he amusingly took the part of the girls and exhorted the parents as to what they should and should not be expected to do.
Two plano duets and solo were very skilfully played and were re- ceived with much appreciation by the audience. The songs and re citations were also well delivered, the enunciation being especially clear and decided, showing how carefully the girls had been train ed; but the piece de resistance was the cantata entitled "The Pied Piper," which was sung througis. with great effect, the parts being well sustained throughout, so that at its close the hall rung again and again with applause.
