The tide-table given below has been obtained by aid of the Tide-predicting Machine, which includes 40 compon- ents for the better prediction of tides, from the result of the analysis of the tidal

observations, taken at the Kau-

tidal Jang observatory under the years 1887, 1836 and direction of Dr. Doberek during the

1889. The times and heights are given for Kaulung, but they may be used for the Victoris Naval Yard and Aberdeen, the differences being very small.

The times of high-and low-water must not be considered to coincidie with the times of slack-water and change of surrant, the two phenomena being quite distinct
